KPW Fights Cancer

Support King Philip Walpole Youth Hockey and the battle against cancer as part of the second 'KPW Fights Cancer' fundraiser, which will be held Oct. 20-28 to benefit the American Cancer Society.

KPW was the first youth hockey program in Massachusetts last year to join the Hockey Fights Cancer iniative, and raised nearly $5,000 for cancer research. This year, a number of fundraising options will be offered over the next two weeks, and all proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society as part of Hockey Fights Cancer, a joint initiative started in 1998 between the NHL and NHLPA:

  • A special fundraising public skate will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at Norfolk Arena, and the Norfolk Arena ownership has pledged to match all proceeds from the event. The fundraiser will include a raffle for Bruins tickets and a chuck-a-puck contest, before the KPW Girls U18 White team plays the Walpole Express at 7 p.m.
  • Make a pledge toward every goal KPW's travel teams score in games played Oct. 25-27 (KPW's teams typically score 75-100 goals per weekend), using the American Cancer Society's web site.
  • 'Chuck a puck' fundraisers will be held at Foxboro Sports Center home games Oct. 26-27.
  • Online and in-person raffles will be offered.

Whether you pledge a penny, a dime, a dollar or more per goal, or if you choose to buy a raffle ticket or chuck a puck, your contribution will directly benefit the fight against cancer. We welcome you to join your KPW community in the fight!
